This week we will be finishing up our beginning-of-year assessments, as well as trying on aspects of a "normal" week such as spelling, grammar, writing short responses to science and social studies learning targets, and, possibly, a Friday assessment.

- I can describe how landforms were shaped in Colorado
- I can describe how mineral and fossil resources have shaped Colorado's development
- I can describe three properties of matter by giving examples of each property
- I can recognize in text and use in my own writing specific examples and terms to clarify meaning
Things to remember:
-Potluck is coming up this Thursday
-Look at and sign your students planner. This is a great time to ask them about the day's learning target

- September 5- No School for Labor Day
- September 12, 13, and 14 is ECO Week for 5th graders
- September 15 is a whole school trip to Buckhorn Camp
- September 22- 4th and 5th graders travel to Centennial Village for a view of Colorado history
- September 23 - No School
